The day after John Prine's death, Janis Ian was inspired to write this song. She wrote it quickly and recorded it on her cell phone. I agree with the person who said, "I love this song and I think it will become an anthem of this time." The song has been in my head since I first heard it. You can read the story of this song on her web site, under "free stuff" as well as hear versions by other artists. You can also just search "Better Times Will Come" on youtube to hear the other artists.
Take a listen to Janis sing Better Times Will Come: I love this song and hope it does become the anthem of the corona virus pandemic--please listen and if you like it, pass it on! I think it's just what we need right now.

Beautiful, cossy. I will pass it on and thank you for posting this.
I saw her in Ridgefield, CT last year. Her voice is sweet and soothing.

Thanks Zeke!
I saw her live a few years ago--a truly beautiful, talented person.

Janis asked fellow artists to record the song and post the video. Interestingly, John Gorka was the first to do so. I have a little connection to him...he and I grew up close to each other in NJ and we both went to the same college in PA. (he is a few years younger...) He got his start playing locally where I live in PA.
Here is his version of the song:
