VP Biden allies and others close to the vice presidential vetting process said California Rep. Karen Bass, the 66-year-old chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, has gained real traction in the late stage of the search.
Amid furious last-minute lobbying and speculation about Biden's historic decision, California Sen. Kamala Harris and Susan Rice, Barack Obama's former national security adviser, are also believed to be among the most serious contenders.
What do you guys think about the women he's deciding from?

Here are six of the black women available for him to choose from:
Sen. Kamala Harris appears to be the front-runner
Rep. Karen Bass of California is a highly accomplished, universally respected and deeply dedicated legislator at the state and national level.
Former national security adviser Susan Rice easily meets the main criteria for any vice president: She is ready right now to be president of the United States.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms is one of the country's most authentic and relatable political leaders.
Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams is the great hope of the Democratic Party -- especially in a region where progressives have struggled to make progress.
Rep. Val Demings of Florida is a respected congresswoman from rump's new home state.
Luckily, there is no shortage of strong and qualified candidates. VP Biden just needs to examine the options, weigh the strengths and weaknesses and pick the best woman for the job.
Or he can select Bernie Sanders

As VP Joe Biden approaches his selection of a Democratic running mate, insiders have been telling reporters that his team is asking three questions of the remaining female candidates:
Will this nominee be good at the job?
Will she get along well with Biden?
Will she be an asset or a liability in the campaign?
These are all important questions that have been asked in past campaigns. For Biden especially, it is important that his running mate do no harm to the ticket. He has the momentum now and wants to maintain it into the fall.

I guess he's still not finished with the interviews..
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has recently met with Biden, making her one of the handful of vice presidential finalists.
Biden is also seriously considering California Sen. Kamala Harris and former President Barack Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice.
So I guess we will hear soon, who he has selected....
