Hurricane Laura !

Hurricane Laura is projected to make landfall near the Texas-Louisiana border early Thursday morning, with powerful winds and heavy rains likely as soon as Wednesday afternoon.

Al Roker from NBC says it could hit land as a category 4.

Those poor people....everything lost....and many lives as well !

There are warnings of “unsurvivable storm surge” of 15 to 20 feet in some areas.

Hope these people listen and evacuate the area!

Re: Hurricane Laura !

I just can't imagine it.  The warnings are clear--"unsurvivable."  Yet, you know there will people who stay and then will expect to get saved at the last minute.

Re: Hurricane Laura !

I feel for those who have livestock and feel they can't leave.  What do you do? Or even have pets--how do you find somewhere to stay with a pet?  I remember Hurricane Sandy--I had no power for a week.  Since I had a total electric house and a well I had no water, no heat, of course no light, and could not cook.  There were places apparently that I could go, but how do you find them with no internet?  I could have just left and drove far enough to where there was power and try to find a room, but I have a dog.  I was going out an collecting water from streams. I figured it was a hurricane, I could put buckets out.  Well, we had no rain, just wind that knocked out the power.  And on top of that--my company wanted me to still come in to work--they would bus us to another office.  Which meant I'd be leaving in the dark and worse, coming home to an empty house, completely dark, in the country, all by myself.  I refused.   I hope there aren't too many deaths and injuries from this storm.
