US agencies investigating hacking of government networks...

Russia is at it again !!

The US Commerce Department confirmed Sunday it has been the victim of a data breach."We can confirm there has been a breach in one of our bureaus," the Commerce Department said in a statement.  "We have asked CISA and the FBI to investigate, and we cannot comment further at this time."

The Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency also confirmed the data security incident "We have been working closely with our agency partners regarding recently discovered activity on government networks."

"CISA is providing technical assistance to affected entities as they work to identify and mitigate any potential compromises," the statement continued.

The Russian-affiliated group, known as APT29, is the suspected culprit behind the FireEye breach, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Re: US agencies investigating hacking of government networks...

U.S. government officials have yet to acknowledge what the Russians were seeking or what they stole in the recently detected hack.

The espionage attack is among the greatest intelligence failures of modern times.

The billions spent on cyber defenses failed to detect this GIANT RUSSIAN hack....

This is what the rump is leaving us.....now he's a traitor against the US...always agreeing with the Russians and Putin...!!!

Re: US agencies investigating hacking of government networks...

rump's former homeland security adviser described the massive data breach of multiple US federal agencies, which US officials suspect is the work of Russian-linked hackers, in urgent terms Wednesday night, calling for immediate and decisive action by the rump.

"The magnitude of this ongoing attack is hard to overstate," Tom Bossert, who headed the administration's cybersecurity efforts, including its response to Russian interference in the 2016 election before he was pushed out in April 2018

Re: US agencies investigating hacking of government networks...

rump said nothing about the attack, which went undetected by his administration's intelligence agencies for months.

As those agencies now mobilize to assess the damage — which the government said Thursday could be more widespread than initially thought, posing a "grave risk to the federal government"

the rump himself remains silent on the matter, preoccupied instead with his election loss and his invented claims of widespread voter fraud.
