DOJ Independence On Hunter Biden, rump-Russia Probes

Attorney general nominee Merrick Garland on Monday pledged to run the Department of Justice independently if confirmed, including on politically-sensitive investigations involving the current and former presidents.

Garland repeatedly stressed that politics would not influence those investigations at the Justice Department, which was criticized for deep partisanship throughout the rump administration.
