President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met today with the family of George Floyd exactly one year after he was killed by Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin sparking nationwide protests against racism and police brutality.
Floyd's brother, Philonise Floyd, told reporters the family had a "great" meeting with the President and vice president and said: "He's a genuine guy. They always speak from the heart."
"We're just thankful for what's going on and we just want the George Floyd Policing Act to be passed," Philonese Floyd told reporters at the White House.

It’s nice to know that Joe and Kamala have caring hearts. I hope this meeting with the President and VP helps George’s family heal. They’ve been through a lot. They deserve closure.
