Democrat Mary Peltola defeated Sarah Palin in the special election for Alaska’s vacant House seat. That means moderate candidates have now defeated right-wing conspiracy theorists Palin and Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina in red districts.

This is a significant upset for the former Alaska Governor and V.P. candidate -- and it’s the second major upset for MAGA candidates this year. Madison Cawthorn, the right-wing conspiracy theorist in North Carolina, was defeated in May. 

Marcus Flowers, the Democratic Army Veteran running for Congress against Marjorie Taylor Greene, is focused on serving the people of Georgia’s 14th District, not sucking up to Trump’s MAGA base.
