Well, there you go SEC!!  I flew for AA, based in BOS for forever, and ORD and SFO, so we have no doubt passed each other either in an airport or, LOL, shopping at Filene's!

Hi SEC.   I just want to say I so enjoy your posts (along with many others).  They are always so well thought out and written and NEVER insulting.  I read the VMB almost daily, but really don't have much time to post.  How do some stay on 24/7?????  What I noticed was when some of the more  -- lets just say conservative/religious posters, -- would get so testy was because you and others, including Vantro, ESM, and Shiny, were so much more knowledgable about the subject with facts and all they had was their opinions and "GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND"..........

My favorite was when I told one of them that I had first hand knowledge of the Civil Rights Movement  because I was born & raised in Montgomery  & I participated in it.  She informed me that she  knew just as much or more than I did because she had read about it.....I just said.....Okey Dokey & she thought I had cursed at her!!!

Hello everyone!  I was Ultrablue60 on the old View board and just dropped the "60" here.  I started out on the All My Children board and had some interesting experiences there. Came to the View board shortly before the AMC board was shut down.  I had watched AMC from the beginning when I was a college freshman so it was traumatic when I learned it was cancelled.  To add insult to injury, it was cancelled right after I retired on August 31, 2011.

I am a 64 year old never married woman with no children.  Would love to have gotten married and have children but it was not in the cards for me apparently. I have a B.S. degree in Social Work and a Master's in Business Administration.  I retired from a large public university and commuted 80 miles round trip daily from my home in Central Illinois for 25 years.  I am not really interested in politics and rarely post on political threads. I am a registered Democrat but do not consider myself a liberal and certainly do not consider myself a conservative.  It depends on the issue which way I lean.

I love to have discussions with people whose opinion is different from mine. I really enjoy learning why and how a person believes a certain way.  By the way, I am a Christian and would probably be considered somewhat conservative in my religious beliefs and practices.

I am so looking forward to posting with everyone on this board.  I became frustrated with the old View Board and was never allowed to post on the Refugee board which is just as well.  I got banned and consider it the highest compliment. I got weird vibes from that board from the very beginning.

One of my flaws is that I tend to get long winded when I write.  Writing is such a natural and easy way to express my thoughts that I just get carried away. So before I drag this out and wear out my welcome I will end here and just say thanks so much for starting this board and providing a place where mature adults can play.

What a great post and a pleasure to read. Sounds like you'll bring a really interesting viewpoint to the board and can't wait to hear your voice. I'm sure we'll have plenty of discussions about topics other than politics!
