Washington Post's Karen DeYoung: “Republicans land only glancing blows in day-long rehash.”
ABC: “The ‘get Hillary’ committee did not get Hillary.”
CBS: “Clinton took more than 300 questions … but what came out of it?”
NBC: “In The GOP Attempt To Look Apolitical, Clinton Won.”
CNN: “Clinton avoided major damage to her presidential campaign.”
Even Fox News, which deserves more credit than anyone for making Benghazi such a big dang deal, cut away from live coverage of the hearing hours before it ended. Leading their web site this morning is a story about an illegal immigrant who beat a toddler in California.
The headline on their leadeall is: “Clinton seeks to turn page on Benghazi after testimony – but can she?”
New York Times: “At Hearing, Clinton Lets Others Do Shouting.”
USA Today: “No clear wins for GOP at Benghazi hearing.”
Boston Globe: “Clinton remains unruffled”
Bloomberg: “Clinton holds ground…”
NPR: “Clinton endures…”
Politico: “Clinton survives…”
Chicago Tribune: “11-hour grilling … reveals little new”

What a horrible time for the GOP. I don't know when it's been worse for them tbh.
First, 3 Republicans call out the Benghazi committee for the partisan witch hunt it is. Then Boehner quits and no one else seems to want the job. And now the moment they've been waiting for just blew up right in their faces. People will remember Hillary as calm, poised and knowledgeable, and all we remember of Gowdy is his rude, sweaty visage.
On the political forums at reddit.com, many Bernie supporters are saying they have newfound respect for Hillary and would not hesitate to vote for her. I think this is the best news yet.
Well, except for the fact that Trump and Carson are the frontrunners. That's the gift that keeps on giving.

I loved how Hillary was so poised & direct in her answers. She is intelligent, knowledgeable & compassionate, definitely Presidential material!

I can't wait to see he next polls. I have a feeling she will surge and won't it be sweet if the GOP's attempts to discredit her have the opposite effect.

I'd like to see how much money has been raised between yesterday and today. I bet Clinton donations are way, way up.

I sure hope so. Hopefully now they will start backing off of this investigation.

What a huge backfire for the Republicans. This dog and pony show just succeeded in showing the world that the whole Bengazi Issue had already been analized 8 times and that nothing new was to be found. They just refuse to accept the findings - even of their OWN committee. There were mistakes made and there was culpability but it was spread out amongst different agencies such as DOD and CIA . No criminal negligence.
All this showed is that Hilary has the intelligence, strength and nerve to be a President. Very impressive.

Completely agree. Hopefully this is sign that the end of this investigation is in sight.

You are more optimistic than I am, Need The gloating may have died down, but the mumbling is still going.

I know. Maybe wishful thinking. I am so ready for it to be over.

The longer this Benghazi stuff drags on, the better it is for Hillary. It may take them a while to figure out she has turned the tables and it is now working in her favour.
Forgotten in all of this seems to be the 4 people who died.

Thats true. I really think that once they do realize it they will start backing off from it and the whole investigation will draw down.

I don't know if it will happen very quickly. There is no one really leading the party right now, so no one to tell Gowdy to back off. That was evident yesterday during the hearing. At the end he actually THREATENED to extend the hearing to another round if he was not allowed to give himself unlimited time for his questions, while everyone else was limited to a certain amount of minutes. He seems very stubborn and has his heels dug in pretty deep. I hope it takes him a while to realize what has happened.
The bubble is hard to permeate. Maybe it will work in our favour this time.
