Ben Carson and Mannatech

Carson said, "I didn’t have an involvement with" the nutritional supplement company Mannatech.

As far as we can tell, Carson was not a paid employee or official endorser of the product. However, his claim suggests he has no ties to Mannatech whatsoever.

In reality, he got paid to deliver speeches to Mannatech and appeared in promotional videos, and he consistently delivered glowing reviews of the nutritional supplements.

As a world-renowned surgeon, Carson’s opinion on health issues carries weight, and Mannatech has used Carson’s endorsement to its advantage.

Politifact:
We rate Carson’s claim False.

Re: Ben Carson and Mannatech

Carson first spoke out in favor of Mannatech products over a decade ago when he claimed that the Texas-based company’s “glyconutritional supplements,” which included larch-tree bark and aloe vera extract, helped him overcome prostate cancer.

Re: Ben Carson and Mannatech

I didn’t have any involvement with them. That is total propaganda. And this is what happens in our society: total propaganda.

Oh sure, Carson hedged, “I did a couple speeches for them. … They were paid speeches.” But! “It is absolutely absurd to say that I had any kind of a relationship with them.”

Right, and Bill Clinton never had relations with that woman!

Re: Ben Carson and Mannatech

Faced with a prostate-cancer diagnosis more than a decade ago, Ben Carson, the Republican presidential hopeful and retired surgeon, consulted an unusual source: the medical director of a Texas company that sells nutritional supplements made of substances such as larch-tree bark and aloe vera extract.

The company doctor “prescribed a regimen” of supplements, Mr. Carson told its sales associates in a 2004 speech. “Within about three weeks my symptoms went away, and I was really quite amazed,” he said to loud applause, according to a YouTube video of the event. The candidate today is cancer-free after surgery. He told associates of the company, Mannatech Inc., that he initially considered forgoing surgery and treating the cancer with supplements only.

Here is Ben Carson on an infomercial for the product he claims he was not a spokesperson for.

Ben Carson, IMO is a pill popping, blatant pandering liar! Nothing good about him.

Pill popping would explain that slightly anesthetized delivery he has.

I also enjoyed the part where he said he was not a homophobe, then proceeded to explain which rights gays could and could not have.

It would be fun to have him debate Hillary. Like shooting fish in a barrel. I think I'd rather see her go against Trump though, just for the entertainment value.

(Anyone but Rubio).

Re: Ben Carson and Mannatech

Rather than Mannatech, Carson should be a spokesman for Sominex.
"Take Sominex tonight and sleep, safe and restful, sleep....slee...sl.....
