Bindi's in a bind. Judge rules Bindi can't get paid.....
Because Bindi Irwin is a minor, a judge has ordered that she can not be held to her contract with
DWTS/ABC in what appears to be (in my opinion) one of the dumbest rulings to hit the lame
stream media in the last few years. Here's the TMZ article :

I don't understand why it would have been taken to court. Who contested the contract? The article doesn't explain why it ended up in court. Another thing is it should be easy enough to prove Steve Irwin is dead. All they have to do is show a death certificate. This whole story seems kind of contrived to me. They are in the middle of the season. Could this be a ploy by show to get Bindy plenty of fan support so she makes it to the end. What a fairy tale ending that would be.

I agree need...and if she is too young, they would just have to put that money in a trust for her until she is of age.
I think Bindi is an amazing dancer, from the clips that I've seen, for someone that had no prior dancing experience.

I was thinking along the lines that someone who didn't want her to win might have put this particular judge on her case to de-throne her, when in fact this could easily blow up in their own face and make her the favorite to win. Since her mother took herself out of the mix before the season started, when the paperwork was originally signed, (I'm sure with the shows lawyers present) I would have to agree that a simple showing of the death certificate should end this. However, knowing that some of the people on this board watch the show diligently, when I saw the news feed on my FB, I couldn't pass up the chance to let all of you see it. Regardless of how stupid it makes that judge look, this will all get worked out before finale.

I don't watch DWTS or know what's going on, but a minor ( under the age of 18) cannot be bound by the terms of a contract. Her guardian could ratify the contract but if Bindi wants out, she's out. Mama, why do you think the judge looks stupid?

I don't think it is Bindi who is contesting the contract. I don't think she wants out, Why would she? She is doing so well right now and she is the belle of the ball.
