Another One Bites The Dust!
President Obama has rejected the application for the Keystone Pipeline XL! 
After 7 years of federal revue, the POTUS has finally declared this pipeline will not happen (on his watch). The President stated " the proposed project wouldn't serve U.S. national interests and would have undercut America's global leadership on climate change".
Bravo President Obama!

Ever since the 2014 mid-terms, when the GOPs swore they would this and that to block Obama, absolutely everything he wanted, he got.
Remember Boner and McConnell's first priority..to make Obama a one term president?
Well, Obama's now in his second term, while Boner got kicked out by his own party.
One down, one to go.

First off let me say that I work in the energy industry and am not speaking of my coworkers. They do know.
Most of my family, friends, and acquaintances that I discussed this with that supported the pipeline, had no idea that almost all of this crude oil was from the Canadian oil sands. They thought this was US produced crude. They also had no idea how poor quality the crude was and basically only China wanted it, and in fact was already sold to China. Basically the only US jobs would be the furthering of jobs in the Texas refineries and the temporary jobs associated with the building of the pipeline.
Now with oil prices so low, US companies are cutting back like crazy, especially the independents.

Shiny, will Canada try to build the refineries to accommodate this or will they simply ship the dirty crude to China?
Canada will not be building any refineries. We'll be shipping the oil as is.
