“Dump Trump” Protests Build As ‘Saturday Night Live’ Hosting Gig Nears.
Some of the country’s most prominent Hispanic and civil rights groups are heading to Rockefeller Center for a 6 PM rally today to protest Donald Trump’s upcoming hosting duties on Saturday Night Live. Just in time for the event, some 50 prominent Hispanic intellectual and cultural figures — including Birdman director Alejandro González Iñárritu and writer Junot Díaz — have distributed a letter denouncing the would-be Republican presidential candidate.
I, for one, won't watch. What could be more uninteresting???????

As a long time SNL fan, I think that if the Donalddoes get to be the host, the joke will be on him. I think he will be the butt of every joke. SNL cast & crew are definitely not a part of his fan base. They don't have to be too obvious, I think if they give him enogh rope he will hang himself.
I do not think Lorne Michaels anticipated this huge uproar over NBC letting Trump host SNL. There are so many prominent people, some hispanic some not, who are speaking out. LM is not one to back down. It will be very interesting to see what happens.
Funny how the Donald gets so much free press. Much of it negative, but as they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity!

Sadly, I think they will go up

Of course the ratings will go up. People who don't even watch SNL will tune in. All these groups are doing is drawing more attention to Trump. I can see Trump doing a good job of making fun of himself.

I am probably the biggest SNL fan you will ever meet, and I believe I have seen almost every episode ever made.
I won't be watching on Saturday, because i can't stand Trump for 90 minutes straight. I will probably watch some clips online on Sunday.
I'm sure the rating will be YUUUGE.

I can't stand SNL and never watch. I've tried watching but find it really stupid.
I may tune in if I can stay awake.

I'm sure you won't be alone, Bou. I think a lot of people will be catching a nap in the afternoon so they can watch. I'm sure it will be all over the news on Sunday morning even if you nod off!

Well, I will be watching. Donald Trump is a YUUUGE joke & I am sure that will be clear. I am sure the ratings will be YUUUGE also. I for one, can't wait!

Not Huge!
That's pretty much what critics and viewers alike are saying about Trump's appearance on SNL
The two highlights of the night belonged to Larry David, who heckled him and the Drunk Uncle bit.
Drunk Uncle appears at 7.30
Drunks Uncle sounds like he never turns FOX off; sort of like the ladies over at the nest. Caw! Caw!

Glad not huge. Numbers dipping by the minute but does this mean Rubio will be the one? yuk!

The Drake video spoof was pretty funny too, but other than that it wasn't a great episode.

I agree, Trump was boring. Not a great episode for sure.
The couple of laughs for me were jokes aimed at Trump. DTcertainly has no comedic timing. (But he is funny when the jokes on him).

I didn't watch it...not interested in anything DTis doing or saying. He can go to hell!
On some of the clips I've seen this morning...he looked ridiculous...nothing new, he always does.
There was a marathon of SVU episodes that was really good....some of them I didn't remember seeing.

strangely that Drake sendup was copied from "This hour has 22 minutes" Ironic. I think Lorne Michaels follows the show closely.

I haven't researched the statistics, but if Trump becomes president, will he be the first POTUS to be divorced twice and married three times?
How about the only president to carry on an affair in public while still married?
Ah, those Republican family values.
