At least 100+ dead, and many dozens wounded and hostages taken. President Francois Hollande declared terrorists attacks of an unprecedented scale are taking place in the Paris region.
WHAT THE FUCK??
What is happening in our world? Is this armageddon and are we in the place where the last battle between good and evil will be fought? Events like this will likely destroy our world and the human race.
Embrace your family and those you love.

An Eagles of Death Metal show? I wonder if this was an attack on the band or the fact they are from the U.S.?
Edit: Never mind. Just found a better article. Crazy!

I could not turn it on until now because the kids were still up but I've been reading the live thread on reddit. I'm trying to catch up. What I know so far is there were up to 7 different but almost simultaneous attacks, and over 150 dead and more than 100 of them were in the concert theatre.
The bombs that went off at the stadium are being reported as "failed" because they were supposed to be detonated as the crowd left in order to maximize casualties.
I also just read that 4 police officers were killed when terrorists activated their suicide belts.

This is just horrific...and sad.
What is going on in our world, that human beings can kill each other in this manner...?

Vantro,
Interesting conspiracy theory but Eagles of Death Metal, wherever they may be from, are just not that good to influence an attack of this magnitude. Crazy for sure!!!

Nice timing, Obama…….. This morning on GMA Obama declared that ISIS is contained and he feels they're not gaining strength. The shooters shouted "Allahu Akbar," and a suspect the police captured confirmed it was ISIS, but Obama doesn't want to speculate what the motives are of the guys yelling "Allahu Akabar" as they execute innocents. Obama called the violence "an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share."
Here's the thing, Sherlock……….Islamic extremists don't share our values. Obama can condemn these "random acts of violence" ad infinitum, but until we address the root of the problem…..radical Islam…….nothing is ever going to be accomplished. Wake up, Obama. Ditch the PC nonsense and address the root of the problem already.

What on earth does Obama have to do with this horrible act of terror in France? Are you drawing a line between 2 points? I wish we could let the blame and political finger pointing go for one day of solidarity in mourning......

I just do not understand the terrorist mind.

Good Morning Esm.
I understand taking the time to come together in solidarity to mourn France's loss. We are united in that I believe.
But at some point we do have to ask ourselves how safe we are when our President is in denial when it comes to ISIS. He needs to pull his head out of the sand and stop worrying about his legacy of ending terrorism.

I think Obama said those things last night in his statement immediately following the attacks. What you saw was probably a clip of that. I think President Obama was right in not saying who he thought was responsible so soon. He learned his lesson with the Benghazie Embassy attack. He is still paying for that. If he says what he thinks and then it turns out he was wrong he will be accused of lying and we will have years of investigations and accusations. It is so funny how people are now faulting him for not wanting to say who was responsible until he has some facts. Now he is in denial about ISIS. Are you kidding me. He is one leader of only a handful that has lifted a finger to fight ISIS.

I believe the U.S. is aware & taking the necessary precautions. The fact is we will always have enemies, but we cannot live in constant fear. My entire time on this planet the U.S. has had real & serious enemies, be it Russia or the Middle East. I believe every POTUS, with the exception of one, has taken threats seriously. Not every POTUS will ever be able to protect us from all threats. All we can do is expect their best. This is France's tragedy & as an outsider I can only blame those whom inflicted the violence.
A wise person learns from their mistakes. A wiser person learns from other's mistakes.

I can on some level understand the desire to seal our borders and cacoon ourselves but I think doing that would be allowing them to shut us down. I agree with Vantro we cannot live in fear.

Great post..and I totally agree!..
We stand united on this war against Isis...who only thinks of death and war.
Isis and our other enemies cherish death and hate, where WE cherish life and love.
My America is already great!

My goodness Caribou, the bodies are barely cold and it's already being used as a political football. How disrespectful.
I am so disgusted by the right. After every mass shooting they decry the left for "politicizing" the shootings re: gun control. Yet any time there is an act of terrorism around the world, the right does the EXACT same thing by screaming that refugees are all terrorists and that Obama doesn't take ISIS seriously and it's all his fault. Give me a break.
When they speculated on Benghazi they were jumped on and an investigation to the tune of 5 million dollars plus is still ongoing. But they are cautious this time and are also pounced on for lying to the public or being naive. Do you guys hear yourselves?
Obama was talking about the advancement of ISIS into other areas, and the fact that Sinjar had been retaken so the forward progress was contained. But I'm sure this soundbite will be beaten to death by the right in an effort to paint Obama as stupid and all refugees, be they men, women or children, as possible threats and people to fear. Fox News will have a hey day with little regard for the victims.
If there was ever a time for solidarity, unity and joining together in a time of grief, this is it.
Let's be human beings for a few minutes, can we?

Need, not sure if you're talking to me but I was referring to him telling GS yesterday morning that ISIS is contained. Maybe it's not denial, maybe it's him making light of the situation to make himself look better. Who knows with him.
As far as Benghazi, he was still denying terrorism well after he knew the truth.

Honestly, I think we here in the United States are pretty safe. Given the fact that we have the Department of Homeland Security who thwarts many plans to attack in our country. We haven't had a large scale attack since 9-11 and our security measures that are in place make it almost impossible for them to launch another large scale attack on us. I think our biggest threat is home grown terrorists and those with the exception of the Boston marathon bombing have been caught in the planning stages and stopped. .

I don't think Obama is in denial about ISIS nor do I think he is making light of of the situation. Like I said he is one of a handlful of country leaders who has taken action against ISIS. Our country under Obama has been active in trying to do something about ISIS. What is it you expect him to do about ISIS?
